FOUND MAG

Rach is best friends with Davy from Found mag so we went out to brooklyn to hear him read from his new book of short stories. He really is a genius and I laughed my ass off. His brother recorded a folk version of the michigan-famous booty tape single "Your Booty Don't Stop." I found myself singing it this morning so here you go: "Damnnnn...the booty don't stop girl."

SOME POLAROIDS

I dragged my big camera to my friend's birthday party cause it was on a roof just across the street. We shot polaroids as party favors. Everyone generally walks off with their shots but somehow I ended up with these.

ARI'S HOUSE

I went to Ari's apartment in Jackson Heights to have dinner and check it out. His neighborhood was actually great. I would move there in a second. We ate at a fancy colombian restaurant. A gigantic plate of meat, salad and rice, beans, plantains was 11 dollars. Almost too big for two people to share. As far as his apartment the vision in my mind was junk everywhere and shit all over the walls. He's into collectors stuff like crystals and I made him stop spending all his money on that stuff and make some friends instead. But the place actually wasn't that bad. He's got a lot of junk and every square millimeter of the house is covered in something. But there was a rhyme and reason or style to it. There's a map of disney world, all the aladdin cartoons etc. and well you can see the rest. I didn't bring any lights or anything so no fancy pictures (lights too dim) but it's interesting.
Ari had pictures of his mother. I think she's beautiful. He cropped his step-father out of one of them (I think their wedding photo) and framed it. Apparently when she got remarried Ari got into a fight with him and then left home for good. It's kind of sad because now he realizes he was just being silly. Feuds with people you care about always are. It reminds me to apologize more often. No old person looking back on their life ever regrets telling people sorry.
