ARI'S BIRTHDAY PART FIVE

I had to buy a real digital camera for some work I'm doing for a magazine so Ari's birthday was really my second time using it. When I reviewed them in the cab, I wasn't happy with the photos I had taken all night so here's my attempt to experiment and force it to take decent black and white or color photos. Or at least two pictures in a row that don't look exactly the same. Digital pictures can be so bland.
We jumped into cabs on roosevelt ave. and took the bqe to chinatown to see adriana. By this time Ari was pretty tired. So soon after we threw him in a cab to take his 60 year old ass home.

Sorry if these are a bit boring if you weren't there. Since so many people were, and want to see photos, I'm just posting pretty much all of them.

GREEN LANTERN

Last night I was hanging out with a bunch of music producers and a writer for scratch magazine. We played a bunch of hip hop they recorded and discussed how phil collins' Don't Care Anymore is one of the seminal songs that hip hop mixing draws on today. Phil apparently had a lot more street cred than hair. Some music to check out.

VIRGINIA

Virginia came up from Texas a few weeks ago. She got off the plane at 11am ready for beer and cigarettes. I needed coffee first so I took her out to St. Helens Cafe in brooklyn and she declared their stupifyingly good grilled foccacia and chedder sandwhich one of the best things she's ever eaten. That place is really good and the coffee is the best in nyc. She snapped some first impressions of nyc and famous graffiti.
more and photos in progress...

Hockey Night from Minnesota plays tonight at the Cake Shop 11pm. They're a lot of fun. I mentioned them to Sarafina and Britta the other night at union pool and they both jumped with joy that I knew about them. Apparently Britta's boyfriend recorded their album and Sarafina's just from the midwest. They have two drummers and one strips down before the set. Sara said you know the drummer's gonna be good when they do that because they're like, "I'm gonna go nuts on this shit."

Today is Ari's birthday. Tom who's an accomplished artist and furniture maker, in addition to being a science professor at my lab, set up a make-your-own ari t-shirt station in our conference room to commemorate the big day. Later we're going out for a big brazilian bbq dinner blow out. Above you will see the famous Ari Warhol which is hanging on our lab wall. Like the great Budda or Chairman Mao Tse-Tung, he is contemplating the mysteries of the universe while munching on a klondike bar. Another favorite is a blown up counterfit school ID which identifies Ari as a Professor of Histrionics. Ari's not particularily happy about turning sixty so write him some comments. He loves hearing from people he knows and even doesn't know. If you want to make your own Ari paper doll to keep you company on your desk at work, print out this pdf. And while I absolutely don't condone it, you can print out a carmen miranda hat
and maracas.
