Each show apparently better than the next, no free valentines day chocolates on thursday night but Emu took full length movies of two songs...including one during the acoustic encore when they ventured out into the audience and played wake up. I lowered the quality way down but it's still fun to listen to and watch even though it's dark. You can view it here.

RACHEL!!!

I forgot to post this great video rachel shot last summer. I really like it. Davy from found magazine found this girl somehow and recorded her. Later they found time to shoot this video while they were shooting a documentary in maine. That guy amazes me, he's got a little team of creative people out there in ann arbor and, unlike most potentially talented people, he actually gets things done. He's got a sort of literary bloodhound gang doing all kinds of hilarious and talented shit except it's on This American Life not Viva la Bam. This singer is really young and wanted to wear her funky teenage girl clothes and rachel had picked out this dress and was like, "hmmmm, no." I think the dress and the wind make it great.

This weekend I got to take Rach to some fashion shows. At first she was mumbling something about I'm shy, what do I wear? but by the end of the first show she had a big smile on her face, "this is addictive, I want more!" It is kind of fun, especially the high fashion ones, except that they give you tons of heavily caffinated girls drinks. I remember coming home after drinking a giant pomegranete tea, two scandinavia house aquavit coffees, three tab liquid cracks, and something else...I felt like beavis when he chuggs a gallon of hot coffee. It sort of lasted or morphed into a hunter s. thompson mood the next morning because I sat down for Sarah's birthday brunch and told the waitress "A large plate of eggs, two bloody mary's and three coffees."

SOME PRELIMINARY FUN

I went to proenza schouler's target opening last night. They must have been selling their clothes at a special discount because the fashion press girls were tearing through racks upstairs and whipping off their 65 layers to try things on. Karlina Kurkova was there milling around and getting interviewed by the euro press yahoos with their weight questions for this 22 year old. She's so pretty. I put up some polaroids from a shoot. I'm certainly not going to insult her modeling but she always looks ten times better in person than in any photograph. Czech women just kind of exude an adorable and sweet hotness. I know it's obnoxious to generalize about countries but I did spend some time there. We shot a bunch of stuff in the czech rep when I worked for an "artistic nudes" website and I never met more naturally beautiful women. And extremely nice skin (I did most of the retouching so I was a big fan of anyone with nice skin that made my job easier).
