cum sheets
I'm working on an article for Tokion on Warhol and some of the interviews are so good it hurts. Benjamin Liu who was a late-factory assistant and Terrence Koh have this great conversation that goes way off topic into the casual, almost meaningless, spontaneity of how art is actually made and they rebuke that anyone is influeced by anyone. At some point they're talking about Victor Hugo. Not Mr. Misérables, but an artist in the eighties who was Halston's boyfriend:
"I just realized that the piss paintings happened the same time when Victor Hugo was doing cum sheets."
"He did cum sheets because I'm doing cum sheets."
"Yeah, I have a Victor Hugo cum sheet."
"Really, oh my god.
Turns out Koh's cum sheets are far more complicated and Hugo would just cum on a sheet when he was doing dudes and then give it people as a present. I love that. Cum sheets, no way, I'm doing cum sheets too. Small world...

Hey Ari, how's the weather in nyc? I spent yesterday shooting photos on a boat out in the gulf. It was chilly here too with all the cool breezes off the coast, I had to put a t-shirt on at one point. Thank god today's a lot warmer. Oops, I gotta go for a swim before we have lunch. I hope it's this nice in LA next week. Ha ha ha! Você é cadela com peido, traque, e ventosidade!

TIGHTS

I helped my friend Lisa Hennessy shoot her stylist book last weekend. It was so last minute with no time to rent a full length light that I was convinced it was gonna go terribly wrong. But I think I did ok, at least with the black and white. I tried to do a Bert Stern (twiggy) kind of sixties look with saturated colors and flat black and white. The clothes were United Bamboo dresses and lots and lots of tights. Tights are pretty much the greatest invention ever after the polio vaccine and crap like that. For the shoot Lisa found a new model who's only 16 and came with her mom. It was cute. Apparently, we weren't the only ones to notice her because Patrick booked her this week...as in Meryl Streep's "Get me..."
